Success Won’t Save You; Serving Will

Live For Jesus | School of Transformation | www.liveforjesus.life

When we think about greatness, most of us don’t immediately think about serving.

But in the Kingdom of God, true greatness looks different.

It’s not about building a platform, gaining recognition, or leading the biggest movement.

It’s about loving the least, the last, and the lost.

It’s about serving the unnoticed, the hurting, and the broken.

It’s about living like Jesus—and letting His life shape ours.

In Matthew 25, Jesus paints a clear and sobering picture through the parable of the Sheep and the Goats. It’s a glimpse into how He will judge our lives—and what will truly matter in the end.

The Sheep: Those Who Lived to Serve

Jesus describes the sheep as those who lived lives of quiet, faithful love:

  • They fed the hungry.

  • They gave water to the thirsty.

  • They welcomed strangers.

  • They clothed the naked.

  • They cared for the sick.

  • They visited prisoners.

And the powerful part?

Many of them didn’t even realize the significance of what they had done.

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?...’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”(Matthew 25:37-40)

Serving the overlooked was serving Jesus Himself.

Greatness in God's eyes wasn't flashy.

It wasn’t platform-driven.

It was simple, faithful love poured out in everyday acts of mercy.

The Goats: Those Who Missed It

But the goats tell a different story.

These weren’t evil people by society’s standards. They weren't the criminals or the obviously wicked.

They simply failed to love.

They failed to see and serve the ones Jesus cares deeply about.

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat...’”(Matthew 25:41-43)

They missed the opportunities to love.

They lived focused on themselves—their lives, their goals, their comfort.

And in the end, their indifference revealed a heart that never truly knew Jesus.

Success in the Kingdom Isn't What You Think

Today, even in Christian culture, it’s easy to get caught chasing the wrong things:

  • Growing an audience.

  • Building a ministry brand.

  • Seeking influence and applause.

But Jesus isn't measuring success by how many followers you gain.

He's looking at how faithfully you loved the people right in front of you.

Greatness isn’t about being known by the world. It’s about being known by your love.

Living as a True Disciple

Being a disciple of Jesus means seeing people the way He does—and choosing to serve them, even when it costs something.

It means:

  • Noticing the people others overlook.

  • Stopping for the one in front of you.

  • Giving without expecting anything back.

  • Serving when no one is watching.

This is where greatness is found—in small, often unseen acts of obedience fueled by love for Jesus.

It’s not about getting a spotlight.

It’s about being faithful in the shadows.

Are You a Sheep or a Goat?

That’s the real question Jesus lays before us.

Not: How impressive was your ministry?

Not: How many people knew your name?

But: Did you love the least of these? Did you live for others—or just for yourself?

This isn’t about earning salvation through works.

It’s about living out the kind of life that proves your faith is real.

“Faith without works is dead.” (James 2:17)

The way we live reveals who we belong to.

A Place to Be Trained for True Greatness

At the School of Transformation, we don’t just talk about following Jesus—we train to actually live it.

Here, you won’t be taught to chase fame, success, or influence.

You’ll be discipled to live for something deeper—to love like Jesus, serve like Jesus, and lay your life down for the sake of others.

You’ll be challenged to stop living for yourself and start living fully surrendered to Him—right now, wherever He places you.

Whether your mission field is across the world or across the street, the call is the same:

Serve. Love. Live for Jesus.
